• Join the numerous environmental activities scheduled in Puerto Calero on June 1st.
As part of the Blue Flag activities and in celebration of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, Puerto Calero, in collaboration with Secrets Lanzarote, is organizing its third edition of the EcoAction Week.
While activities have already started on social media with the “Capture the Sea” and “Gastronomic Judge” contests, the majority of the activities will take place on June 1st.
With the collaboration of the Yaiza Town Hall, Hotel Costa Calero, Submarine Safaris, We Whale, and Catlanza, the Plaza de Las Carpas in Puerto Calero will be the epicenter of the activities for the third edition of EcoAction Week in Puerto Calero.
The program is as follows:
9:00 AM Coastal Cleanup – We will walk along the coast and, thanks to the collaboration of the Marine Litter Observatory, we will gather a lot of information about the origin of the waste collected and how best to manage this garbage. Additionally, this volunteering has a reward. Thanks to the collaboration of Puerto Calero operators, all participants will be entered into a raffle for gift vouchers for spa treatments, catamaran trips, submarine rides, and other surprises.
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Eco Action Week Market: Discover the activities of some local NGOs, the second-hand stall, and the opportunity to purchase organic vegetables from Finca Ecológica Tres Peñas. There will also be children’s workshops and talks with the collaboration of We Whale.
10:30 AM Pet Adoption: The Yaiza municipal shelter will bring some pets looking for new homes.
11:00 AM We will announce the winner of the “Capture Our Sea” photography contest and open the exhibition featuring all the participating photographs.
12:00 PM It will be the turn of Puerto Calero’s chefs. They will showcase their skills and knowledge of local products to present the most deliciously sustainable dish.
