Nautical Services in Marina Lanzarote
The local Arrecife market shouldn’t be missed. This is held on Saturday mornings in the Las Palmas square next to the San Ginés church where you can buy fresh produce and enjoy performances of typical folk music and dancing.
There are plenty of large supermarkets within walking distance, including a Hiperdino at the far end of the main shopping street (Calle Real) and another larger Hiperdino and Mercadona on C/Perez Galdós. These shops both offer delivery services to the marina (in the case of Hiperdino, this is free for purchases of over 60€). Ensure that you explain where you are berthed! There is also a Lidl (next to Ikea) about 15 minutes’ walk away. A little closer, in C/ Velacho, the shop Chacón, will vacuum-pack meat purchases and you can also recycle cans and plastic bottles in return for tokens that can be redeemed in the shop.
Hoisting And Repairs
Marina Lanzarote’s large boatyard employing both a 820-tonne and a 100-tonne travel hoist is now open. The larger of the two hoisting slip has a width of 14.5m for large multihulls and the yard features two deep keel pits for facilitating working ashore. There are numerous specialists (sail repair, rigging, engine servicing, electronic, welding and machining, fibreglass, etc) based either in Marina Lanzarote or Puerto Calero. For more information please visit our section on Shipyard services or contact the yard office: email@example.com Tel: +34 605 812289.
Lava Tienda Náutica, just around the corner from the Marina Office, stocks Imray charts and pilot books, Garmin, Vetus, Lewmar and Hempel products and much more. The staff are very helpful and speak a variety of languages. Current opening hours are Mon-Fri: 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 – 13:00. Use your Calero Marinas Club card to obtain a 10% discount. Contact details: firstname.lastname@example.org Tel: +34 638 380 345
A few minutes’ walk from the marina, the Naos area, just opposite the marina, is replete with a variety of stores including Suministros San Ginés, Sucesores de Hermenegildo Duarte and Inox Naval[/highlight]
The fuel dock is unfortunately not now due to be installed until later this year. Puerto Calero offers a fuelling service, 11nm south along the coast with opening hours from 8.00 – 19:30 every day. If for any reason the attendant is not on the pontoon, please call on VHF ch.09 for service. Payment can be made in cash or by credit card.
Bunkers can be arranged for yachts needing large quantities of fuel; please contact the Marina Office for more information.
2.8kg Camping Gaz canisters can be both purchased and exchanged at the Lava Tienda Náutica, just next to the marina office.
NuB is the name of the most commonly-used domestic gas in the Canaries. These can be exchanged or purchased from a good number of fuel stations, the nearest one being the local DISA garage opposite Ikea & Lidl on the Avenida Mármoles.
Throughout the Canary Islands, domestic gas bottles are filled with butane and not propane. Recent safety measures in filling depots have meant that only Lanzarote and Fuerteventura offer a service for filling those with a Calor Gas blue butane or orange propane fitting; a number of US and Scandinavian bottles with a left-hand feminine fitting and French Jumbo bottles. These can either be taken directly to the DISA depot (open weekdays until 3pm) or left with the reception staff who will organise a collection and refill service. (NB. Please allow 2 days for this).
