One of the major events in the national regatta calendar returns to the waters of Arrecife on June 6th and 8th.

The Royal Nautical Club of Arrecife hosted the presentation of the XIII César Manrique Trophy – RCNA – Calero Marinas, which began in 2002 in response to the demand from the local fleet for a high-level event and grew to become one of the three most important events in the national circuit, after Palma de Mallorca and Valencia.

The XIII edition will be held from June 6th to 8th based in Marina Lanzarote, where the sailing festival can be enjoyed.

Pilar Hernández, event director, presented the event, explaining the novelties of this edition which will feature the J80 fleet, in addition to the usual Cruising class. “Everyone will be able to enjoy the spectacle of sailing, follow the regattas live via tracking, or enjoy them from the boat available to the public. We have one of the best race courses and a fun social program with our good gastronomy. We want it to be the great sailing party it was again”.

José Calero, president of Calero Marinas, said: “20 years ago we enjoyed it a lot and we want to continue doing so, giving prominence to the sailors. Without sailors, there is no regatta. With the collaboration of the RCNA, we will reach the point from which we started”.

Julio Romero, president of the RCNA, highlighted the enormous effort of Calero Marinas to make Lanzarote shine with its high-level events.

In the same line, Héctor Fernández, CEO of Turismo Lanzarote, said: “We support this type of event, the sea, and what we have been able to develop in its environment”.

The event was closed by Juan Francisco Monzón, Sports Counselor of the Cabildo, who said he was proud of sailing, one of the star sports in Lanzarote. “With one of the best race courses in the world, we have turned it into a lure to come and compete in Lanzarote.”

All the information about the XIII César Manrique Trophy – RCNA – Calero Marinas can be followed at www.trofeocesarmanrique.com This new edition is part of the Canary Islands Cruising Circuit and is valid for the national championship.

From Calero Marinas and the Royal Nautical Club of Arrecife, we want to return the trophy to its deserved position in the national regatta calendar, as the César Manrique Trophy has always been an unmissable event for all lovers of this sport.

And this could not be a reality without the invaluable support of public institutions: Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Turismo Lanzarote through Lanzarote European Sport Destination, and the City Council of Arrecife through its Tourism department, but also private companies such as Naviera Armas and Cicar.
