Approach guidance for Puerto Calero

The approach and entry to the marina are very straight-forward with no hazards and a minimum of 7m depth in the entry channel.  The marina opens towards the SW and is identified by a tower light: Fl.(3)G.14s13m8M at the end of the south breakwater and a portside channel marker (red can buoy – Fl.(2)R.8s3M), and a red light set into the end of the dock wall (Fl.R.15s3m3M). With only a maximum 3m tidal range, the marina can be safely accessed at all times, day and night.

Contacting the marina

Please call on VHF ch.09 (24/7) for advice on entry. Dock staff will then meet you at the designated berth to help with lines. Tel: +34 928 511285.

Reception dock

The reception dock (70cm high floating pontoon) is at the end of the inner quay under a series of flags, opposite the tower. The Marina Office is located at the top floor of three-storey building named “Edificio Antiguo Varadero” in the eastern part of the marina (the reception dock has a map for orientation, see also the plan below).  For those needing fuel, the fuel dock is immediately to starboard upon entering the marina.

Emergency equipment in the marina

Once berthed in the marina, take a moment to locate the nearest escape ladder, fire extinguisher and life ring.

Entry Documents

The Puerto Calero Entry Form and the Border Police Control Form both need to be completed either beforehand or upon arrival in the marina office and given to the marina staff who will also request copies of the boat registration document, insurance and passport of the owner/skipper.

Opening hours

The marina can be accessed at all times and dock staff are on duty 24/7.
The marina office hours: Monday to Saturday 08:00 – 20:00 /Sundays 09:00 – 20:00.
The fuel dock is manned from 08:30 to 19:30 every day.
