Calero Marinas in Lanzarote: A world-class Training Base

“Lanzarote has given us amazing stability in respect of winds and waves. The great Azores high being squeezed by the African coast gives us the perfect trade wind conditions when we go ocean off-shore. The different land effects around the Canary Islands have opened up opportunities for coastal wind effects previewing exactly what we will experience in the race. 100 metres from dock out to the open ocean just couldn’t be more valuable.” Anders Lewander. Nordic Skipper for VOR team – Ericsson 4.

The unique qualities of island’s temperate climate, perfect for outdoor sports, great flight connections and renowned sporting facilities, have secured Lanzarote’s international reputation as a top-level sports destination for Olympic competitors, World Championships and top-level racing teams.
