- Come and learn more about the extraordinary biodiversity of our ocean and local coastal waters
- Experience the myriad ways in which we can safely have fun in and on the water.
With their two great slogans “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care” and “Healthy oceans, healthy planet.” we are already on a positive footing for enjoying the quality time in and around the ocean. As island dwellers, we all have direct experience of the privilege of living close to the sea from having fun on the beach to enjoying exhilarating water-sports or even sighting rare seabirds or marine mammals.
This event covers many diverse aspects of interacting with the ocean; sailing schools and charter companies are offering free trips to people who have never tried sailing before; there will be traditional boat builders and workshops offering useful skills such as knotting and VHF radio use; children can have fun with bouncy castles and eco-games and there will be some intriguing documentaries throughout the afternoon on local marine life and Arrecife’s historical heritage.
Sailors will be able to revise important liferaft drills and learn more about the latest developments in solar and wind technology for boats. We will also be accompanied by the local lifeboat service, offering guided tours around their vessels.
The Jornada de la Náutica y el Medio Ambiente brings together experts, watersports professionals, conservationists and all who are passionate about the sea to share their fascinating view on our surrounding water world!
Join us on Saturday 6th between 4pm – 9pm in Marina Lanzarote for a fantastic afternoon of discovery and new experiences.
