Marina Jandia is an €8.5 million investment project
Construction will commence upon completion of Marina Lanzarote
The marina will have 290 berths and 20 shops
Calero Marinas’ next project is located in the south of the island of Fuerteventura. Marina Jandía will be the future yacht harbour at Morro Jable in the south of Fuerteventura and with a total investment amount of €8.5 million, has been awarded to the Lanzarote-based company.
The announcement of this initiative was attended by the President of the Canarian Government , Paulino Rivero, as well as the president of Canarian Ports and the Minister of Public Works, Transport and Regional Policy, Domingo Berriel. The President of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Mario Cabrera was also present and referred to José Calero, President of Calero Marinas in the following comment: “Based upon his previous achievements, we have a guarantee that the work carried out here will be of a very high standard and will provide a quality, complementary offering to tourists.”
Marina Jandia will have a total area of 64,180 m2 and 290 berths for vessels of lengths between 6 and 35 metres. It will also have a commercial area of 2000m2 housing 20 shops.
Calero Marinas’ management have declared their commitment to local employment and to working with local institutions so their intention is that the 12 new jobs generated by the new marina will be filled by local staff. They have also agreed partnerships with the Jandía Yacht Club for future events, as well as the Red Cross and the Fishermens’ Cooperative of Morro Jable, in order to be able to coordinate activities for the benefit of all parties.
